This feels really dumbed down compared ot the original game in terms of world design and puzzles - the famous "palm trees and eight" puzzle is gone, for example, replaced with an oh-so-hard straight line walk to your goal. This is a much more linear-feeling game than FFA, and I'm fine with linearity, but prefer the world design style of the original game over this. Gone are the large open levels, for example instead, each area is a straight linear path. Sword does some good things, such as the option to play as the female lead if you want, but otherwise feels like a big step down from the original. The concept was a SNES-style remake of FFA, but as someone who's always preferred FFA over the SNES games, I was concerned from the start. Sword of Mana is a very disappointing game.
